Tri-Rail and Metrorail Transfer Station is a Metrorail and Tri-Rail interchange station in Hialeah, Florida, northwest of the city of Miami proper.

This station is located near the intersection of East 25th Street and 11th Avenue, officially opening to service March 6, 1989. The station was built as a connection for the Tri-Rail and Metrorail rail systems. Though the Amtrak station, which is served by the Silver Meteor and Silver Star, is located only a few blocks away, it is not officially connected to this station. It is scheduled to be moved to the new Miami Airport Station by late 2016, delayed several years due to a platform length issue, where it will connect with Tri-Rail and Metrorail closer to downtown. While the airport station creates a slightly better Tri-Rail/Metrorail transfer, both will be usurped by the opening of MiamiCentral station with Brightline and Tri-Rail service in Government Center, directly in Downtown Miami.

Levels

Lower level

The lower level of the transfer station serves northbound and southbound Tri-Rail trains. The station consists of two side platforms connected by an elevated overpass; an information kiosk, which sells Easy Cards for Metrorail, and easy access to the upper level, which serves Metrorail. The station is highly congested during rush hour, being one of the busiest Tri-Rail stations, though most of the congestion was relieved with the opening of the Tri-Rail portion of Miami Airport Station in 2015.

Upper level

The upper level of the transfer station serves Metrorail Green Line trains. The station has two side platforms, one for southbound trains, and one for northbound trains (westbound). Fare control has a security kiosk and Easy Card vending machines, along with the route map. This station is among the lowest ridership for Metrorail, especially after the opening of the Miami Airport Station to Metrorail in 2012 and Tri-Rail in 2015, which facilitates a closer rapid transit point to the central business district.
